An explosion and massive fire at a Dallas apartment building killed a child and at least two other people following a blast that shook nearby homes and happened while firefighters were rushing to a reported gas leak, officials said. At least five people also went to hospitals with injuries, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans said. It was unclear how many residents lived in the two-story complex in the Oak Cliff neighborhood south of downtown Dallas, where a towering plume of black smoke was visible for miles."This was enormous," Evans said of the fire. At least six workers were killed after an under-construction bridge collapsed during a late-night storm in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district. The death count is feared to rise to eight. The bridge, which stretches from Morakandar to Kandaur village, was being built over the Betwa River. The incident took place when the work was underway at the bridge. Some workers were standing under a hydra machine amid rain. The tragedy unfolded amidst heavy rain and a storm, raising questions regarding safety measures at the construction site. "We reached the spot immediately after receiving the information a slab had collapsed and some people were trapped beneath it," Arvind Kumar Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Hamirpur told reporters. "SDRF is here, and rescue operations are underway," he added.
Police have intensified investigation into an illicit liquor network in the Pune district after 18 people died in the last 48 hours following the consumption of methanol-laced alcohol.While 13 people died in Pimpri Chinchwad's Phugewadi and Dapodi, five died in Pune's Hadapsar and Kalepadal after allegedly consuming the liquor. While the police earlier tied the deaths to unrelated illnesses, a common factor between all the victims' were the symptoms of severe dizziness and abdominal pain. These are consistent with the initial signs of liquor poisoning.Post-mortem reports were later received by the police, following which they began the process of registering cases under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 123 (causing hurt by means of harmful substances with intent to commit a crime), along with other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.
Rajasthan Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar Dak was booked for allegedly hurling verbal abuse at policemen and threatening them in public, an officer said.Dak was booked at Dungla Police Station in Chittorgarh after an audio clip purportedly showing him abusing policeman went into circulation online.The minister issued a video statement, claiming he had no connection with the audio making rounds on social media The FIR was lodged under sections 132, 351(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to obstructing government work, criminal intimidation, and use of criminal force.According to the FIR filed by Station House Officer Shaitan Singh, the incident took place when he, Singh, was at the police station and received a phone call from the minister asking him to come outside.

A truck driver from West Bengal was killed in an ambush by unidentified people on a highway in Manipur's Ukhrul district , the police said. A policeman was also injured in a gunfight that broke out following the ambush on National Highway 202 in an area that has seen tension between the Naga and Kuki tribes in recent weeks. The injured policeman was taken to a hospital in Imphal. In a separate incident, five people from the Kuki tribes were injured in tear-gas firing by the security forces, who were in the area to clear roadblocks for movement of trucks carrying essentials. The two incidents happened as the security forces tried to open the highway for carrying supplies from the state capital Imphal in central Manipur's valley area to the Naga-dominant hill district in the east 80 km away.

राजस्थान राज्य विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण, जयपुर के निर्देशानुसार अध्यक्ष महोदय, जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण, जोधपुर महानगर श्री दिनेश त्यागी,एवं जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण, जोधपुर महानगर के सचिव श्री राकेश रामावत द्वारा शुक्रवार को केन्द्रीय कारागृह, जोधपुर का औचक निरीक्षण किया गया। निरीक्षण के दौरान केंद्रीय कारागृह के अधीक्षक श्री प्रमोद सिंह शेखावत एवं अन्य कारागृह के कर्मचारीगण, एलएडीसी के अधिवक्तागण, पीएलवी उपस्थित रहे। अध्यक्ष महोदय ने निरीक्षण के दौरान केंद्रीय कारागृह में निरुद्ध बंदियों को उपलब्ध करवाये जाने वाले भोजन की गुणवत्ता, उनके स्वास्थ्य एवं चिकित्सा सुविधा सहित अन्य समस्त आधारभूत सुविधाओं की जांच पड़ताल की। निरीक्षण के दौरान बंदियों को उनके प्रकरणों की वर्तमान स्थिति से अवगत करवाया गया तथा बंदियों द्वारा बताई गई समस्याओं के निराकरण बाबत् उपस्थित अधीक्षक को आवश्यक निर्देश प्रदान किये गये। इसी के साथ ही शुक्रवार को सचिव महोदय श्री राकेश रामावत द्वारा राजकीय बालिका एवं शिशु गृह, जोधपुर तथा संपर्क बाल विकास केंद्र, जोधपुर का औचक मासिक निरीक्षण किया गया। निरीक्षण के दौरान गृह में आवासित बालक/बालिकाओं के भोजन, चिकित्सा, रहन-सहन, साफ-सफाई व अन्य मूलभूत सुविधाओं की जांच पड़ताल कर आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश प्रदान किये गये।
जनगणना-2027 के प्रथम चरण के अंतर्गत मकान गणना एवं मकान सूचीकरण का कार्य जिले में प्रगति पर है। यह कार्य 16 मई 2026 से प्रारम्भ होकर 14 जून 2026 तक संचालित किया जाएगा। प्रगणक घर-घर जाकर निर्धारित प्रपत्रों के अनुसार जानकारी संकलित कर रहे हैं। इसी क्रम में शुक्रवार को प्रमुख जनगणना अधिकारी एवं जिला कलक्टर श्री आलोक रंजन की अध्यक्षता में जनगणना-2027 के प्रथम चरण की समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में जिला जनगणना अधिकारी एवं अतिरिक्त जिला कलक्टर (प्रथम) जोधपुर श्री जवाहर चौधरी, उप जनगणना अधिकारी एवं संयुक्त निदेशक आर्थिक एवं सांख्यिकी विभाग, जोधपुर श्रीमती मीनाक्षी चौधरी सहित सभी चार्ज जनगणना अधिकारियों ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से भाग लिया। समयबद्ध प्रगति पर जोर, कम प्रगति वाले क्षेत्रों की नियमित मॉनिटरिंग के निर्देश बैठक में जिला कलक्टर श्री आलोक रंजन ने सभी चार्ज जनगणना अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि 31 मई 2026 तक कम से कम 70 प्रतिशत कार्य पूर्ण किया जाना सुनिश्चित करें। उन्होंने कहा कि जनगणना जैसे महत्वपूर्ण कार्य में सतत निगरानी एवं प्रभावी समन्वय आवश्यक है, इसलिए सभी अधिकारी नियमित रूप से क्षेत्रीय निरीक्षण करते हुए कार्य प्रगति की समीक्षा करें। जिला जनगणना अधिकारी एवं अतिरिक्त जिला कलक्टर (प्रथम) श्री जवाहर चौधरी ने जिन चार्ज क्षेत्रों में अपेक्षाकृत कम प्रगति पाई गई, वहां संबंधित अधिकारियों को विशेष रूप से निरीक्षण बढ़ाने एवं समयबद्ध रूप से कार्य पूर्ण करने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि पर्यवेक्षकों की समय-समय पर समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित कर कार्य की प्रगति का सतत मूल्यांकन किया जाए।
दूदिया-दुंदाड़ा स्टेशनों के बीच आरयूबी निर्माण कार्य के चलते रेलवे ने कुछ ट्रेनों को रद्द, आंशिक रद्द, मार्ग परिवर्तित और विलंब से चलाने का निर्णय लिया है। रद्द ट्रेनें: 74839 भगत की कोठी-बाड़मेर (31 मई, 7 जून) और 74840 बाड़मेर-भगत की कोठी (1 जून, 8 जून) रद्द रहेंगी। आंशिक रद्द ट्रेनें:** 14896 बाड़मेर-भगत की कोठी एक्सप्रेस और 14893 भगत की कोठी-पालनपुर एक्सप्रेस 31 मई व 7 जून को समदड़ी/भगत की कोठी के बीच आंशिक रूप से रद्द रहेंगी। * **मार्ग परिवर्तित ट्रेनें:** 20485 जैसलमेर-साबरमती और 20486 साबरमती-जैसलमेर सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस 31 मई व 7 जून को परिवर्तित मार्ग से चलेंगी। इन ट्रेनों का ठहराव पाली, मारवाड़ जंक्शन, फालना, आबू रोड, पालनपुर आदि स्टेशनों पर होगा, जबकि समदड़ी, जालोर, भीलड़ी, पाटन सहित कई स्टेशनों पर नहीं जाएंगी। * **विलंब से चलने वाली ट्रेनें:** 14887 ऋषिकेश-बाड़मेर एक्सप्रेस 31 मई को लगभग 1 घंटे तथा 6 जून को करीब 135 मिनट देरी से चलेगी। * **बहाल ट्रेनें:** 14893/14894 भगत की कोठी-पालनपुर तथा 20491 जैसलमेर-साबरमती सुपरफास्ट सहित कुछ ट्रेनें 7, 8, 14 और 15 जून को पुनः नियमित रूप से संचालित होंगी।
‘‘वंदे गंगा’’ जल संरक्षण जन अभियान-2026 के अंतर्गत बुधवार को शिक्षा (विद्यालयी/संस्कृत) एवं पंचायती राज विभाग मंत्री श्री मदन दिलावर ने मण्डोर स्थित ब्रह्मचारी राम कुमार जी पन्नालाल जी गौशाला पहुंचकर अभियान अंतर्गत आयोजित विभिन्न गतिविधियों में भाग लिया। इस दौरान उन्होंने वृक्षारोपण किया, पक्षियों के लिए परिण्डे लगाए तथा गौशाला में आयोजित पशु उपचार शिविर एवं बांझपन निवारण शिविर का अवलोकन कर व्यवस्थाओं की जानकारी ली। कार्यक्रम के दौरान मंत्री श्री दिलावर ने गौशाला में संचालित उपचार व्यवस्थाओं एवं गौसंरक्षण से जुड़े कार्यों की सराहना करते हुए संबंधित कार्मिकों एवं प्रबंधन के प्रयासों की प्रशंसा की। जल संरक्षण एवं गौसंरक्षण को जनआंदोलन बनाने की आवश्यकता : श्री मदन दिलावर शिक्षा एवं पंचायती राज मंत्री श्री मदन दिलावर ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि ‘‘वंदे गंगा’’ जल संरक्षण जन अभियान केवल जल बचाने का कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि प्रकृति, पर्यावरण एवं जीवन चक्र को सुरक्षित करने का व्यापक अभियान है। उन्होंने कहा कि जल, जंगल, ऑक्सीजन, खाद्यान्न, वर्षा एवं भूजल सभी एक-दूसरे से जुड़े हुए विषय हैं तथा इनके संरक्षण के बिना सतत विकास संभव नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि धरती के स्वास्थ्य को सुरक्षित रखने में गौमाता की विशेष भूमिका है तथा गौसंरक्षण एवं पर्यावरण संरक्षण एक-दूसरे के पूरक हैं। उन्होंने गौशाला में हो रहे उपचार एवं सेवा कार्यों की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि ऐसे प्रयास समाज में संवेदनशीलता एवं संरक्षण की भावना को मजबूत करते हैं। पॉलीथिन के दुरुपयोग से पशु एवं पर्यावरण दोनों प्रभावित श्री दिलावर ने आमजन से प्लास्टिक एवं पॉलीथिन के न्यूनतम उपयोग का आह्वान करते हुए कहा कि पॉलीथिन का दुरुपयोग गौवंश के स्वास्थ्य के लिए गंभीर खतरा बनता जा रहा है।
