RBI Keeps Repo Rate Steady At 5.25% As US-Iran War Adds Pressure On India

In line with market expectation, the Reserve Bank of India kept repo rate unchanged at 5.25 percent. The decision, taken unanimously, comes after the six-member monetary policy committee held deliberations for two days. At the start of his address, RBI governor Sanjay Malhotra pointed out that India remains confident to withstand challenges while adding that global economic outlook remains clouded amid the ongoing Iran war.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit North Korea from June 8 to 9, state, his first trip in nearly seven years as Beijing looks to reassert ties with Pyongyang.Xi would be visiting on an invitation from Kim, North Korean state media said.Kim was a guest at a massive military parade in Beijing last September, travelling to the Chinese capital on his signature green armoured train.The announcement follows separate summits Xi hosted in Beijing for US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin last month. A divorce that appeared settled more than two decades ago has finally come to an end, with Indian-origin woman Varsha Gohil securing a 6.6 million pounds (around Rs 85 crore) payout in one of the UK's most remarkable divorce battles.The case began in 2002 when Varsha Gohil filed for divorce from her husband, Bhadresh Gohil, citing adultery and unreasonable behaviour. At the time, the couple had three children and reached what seemed to be a straightforward financial settlement. Varsha accepted about 270,000 pounds (around Rs 3.5 crore) and kept the family's Peugeot car. But she never fully believed that all of her husband's assets had been disclosed.
In a major embarrassment for the new DK Shivakumar government in Karnataka, Minister Ramalinga Reddy has resigned from the Cabinet just two days after taking oath. Reddy is upset over the allocation of portfolio. Confirming his resignation, Reddy claimed that he was promised the Bengaluru Development portfolio by DK Shivakumar himself, but was later allocated Irrigation portfolio, which is not acceptable to him. "DK Shivakumar came to my house before taking over as the chief minister. He told me that I will be given Bengaluru portfolio. I had not asked the chief minister for any portfolio, he offered this on his own and I said okay," Reddy stated.
Police said that a man allegedly killed his parents and sister over a property dispute before being murdered by his accomplice and friend following a disagreement over the division of valuables. Police Commissioner Jogendra Kumar said the bodies of Virendra Vaishya (70), his wife Anita (65), and daughter Meenakshi (45) were recovered from a house in the South Malaka locality under Kotwali police station limits.The body of their son, Abhishek Vaishya (40), was found in a shop located on the ground floor of the same building, he said. The commissioner said police have arrested Abhishek's friend, Sunny Gupta, and recovered around one to two grams of gold and approximately 360 grams of silver from his possession.According to the investigation, Abhishek had allegedly called Gupta to his house and planned the murders of his parents.
The Kerala toddler, who was beaten to death by his mother's live-in partner, suffered 91 injuries, the post-mortem report has found. The investigation into the death of one-and-a-half-year-old Arshid has revealed that the child was subjected to sustained and brutal physical assault at the hands of Ashkar, his mother's lover. The incident took place in Panavoor area of Nedumangad, 20 kilometres away from the capital Thiruvananthapuram.The detailed post-mortem report has found that the child died from severe injuries to the chest and head. Doctors recorded 91 injuries on the child's body, including seven fractured ribs, internal injuries, and swelling and bleeding inside the skull.
The mother of a pregnant teenager, who, along with her unborn child, was killed in a Range Rover Velar crash in Ohio, United States, has said she wants the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deport the Indian man charged over the incident. Annette Holmes said she does not want 33-year-old Tarsem Singh to remain in the country. According to the victims' family, Singh, an Indian national living in the US illegally, was the father of 17-year-old Ashlee Holmes' unborn child. Relatives told that Ashlee tried to leave the relationship several times but was not successful. "Nobody should ever deserve to die while pregnant with their first kid," Annette Holmes, 40.

Spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan starred in Pakistan's four-wicket win in their decisive third and final one-day international against Australia in Lahore. Shaheen grabbed 3-30 to bundle Australia out for 157 before Shadab added a fighting 29 not out to his two wickets, helping Pakistan to their winning target in 41.5 overs. From being out of India's T20I team to be named the new captain, Shreyas Iyer's world is officially set to undergo a big change , sources told . The Bombay High Court has refused to grant an interim stay on the release of Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai, dealing a setback to filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani's Puja Entertainment Limited. The court's decision allows the film to release as scheduled in cinemas across India and internationally. Puja Entertainment had approached the court challenging the release, raising objections over the alleged unauthorised use of two popular songs, Chunnari Chunnari and Ishq Sona Hai, in the film. Vashu Bhagnani filed a Rs 400 crore suit in the Bombay High Court against Tips Industries Limited, Ramesh Taurani, Kumar S Taurani and filmmaker David Dhawan, intensifying tensions and controversies ahead of the film's release.

विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस (05 जून 2026) के अवसर पर परिसर में छायादार और फलदार पौधे लगाकर कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत मुख्य अतिथि श्री देवेन्द्र कुमार बिश्नोई, IPS द्वारा की गई। मुख्य अतिथि महोदय ने अपने संबोधन में विशेष रूप से रेखांकित किया कि केवल पौधे लगाना ही पर्याप्त नहीं है। पौधों की निरंतर उत्तरजीविता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए प्रत्येक प्लाटून को निश्चित पौधों की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी जाएगी, ताकि वे उनके बड़े होने तक उनकी नियमित देखभाल और पानी देने का कार्य कर सकें।कार्यक्रम के दौरान मुख्य अतिथि महोदय द्वारा उपस्थित समस्त अधिकारियों, पदस्थापित पुलिसकर्मियों और प्रशिक्षणरत प्रशिक्षणार्थियों को पर्यावरण संरक्षण की सामूहिक शपथ दिलाई गई ।

राजस्थान जन-आधार योजना के तहत अब जन्म एवं मृत्यु प्रमाण-पत्र के आधार पर जन-आधार डेटाबेस स्वतः अपडेट होगा। नवजात शिशु का नाम जन्म प्रमाण-पत्र जारी होने के बाद उसकी माता के जन-आधार परिवार में स्वतः जुड़ जाएगा, जबकि किसी सदस्य की मृत्यु होने पर उसका नाम स्वतः हटा दिया जाएगा। नवजात शिशु का नाम स्वतः जोड़ने के लिए जन्म पंजीकरण के समय माता की आधार संख्या, जन-आधार परिवार आईडी और सदस्य आईडी दर्ज होना तथा माता की आधार ई-केवाईसी पूर्ण होना आवश्यक है। यदि जन्म प्रमाण-पत्र में शिशु का नाम दर्ज नहीं है, तो उसे अस्थायी रूप से “Baby of Mother Name” के नाम से जोड़ा जाएगा और बाद में नाम अपडेट होने पर जन-आधार में भी स्वतः संशोधन हो जाएगा। इसी प्रकार, मृत्यु प्रमाण-पत्र जारी होने और संबंधित डेटा प्राप्त होने के बाद मृत सदस्य का नाम जन-आधार परिवार से स्वतः हट जाएगा। इसके लिए मृत्यु पंजीकरण के समय आधार संख्या, जन-आधार परिवार आईडी और सदस्य आईडी का सही उल्लेख आवश्यक होगा। आर्थिक एवं सांख्यिकी विभाग की संयुक्त निदेशक मीनाक्षी चौधरी ने नागरिकों से जन्म एवं मृत्यु पंजीकरण के दौरान सभी आवश्यक विवरण सही और पूर्ण रूप से दर्ज कराने की अपील की है, ताकि यह नई सुविधा प्रभावी रूप से लागू हो सके।
